Little Inferno

Ahhh... The warm fire of a fireplace, the sweet crackling sound of things burning, my dear friend Noxae queing in my head "Beautiful things, beautifully burn".

This is what Little Inferno is all about. Burning things. You got a little fireplace/stove, put things inside and burn them. Pure pyromaniac fun.

By burning different things at the same time you get rewards (more items) and each item does another thing when lit up. Corn turns to pop corn. glass breaks, fireworks explode etc etc. Everyone will like it. And it's indie too!

Hitman Absolution

The last chapter of the Hitman series might be the best one yet. The hairless assassin comes to hunt down his own family to save a little girl from becoming like him.

This is the first time Agent 47 has such a great way of moving around, killing, sneaking and doing everything an Agent 47 does to get around. The main mechanics are renewed to a great level and make the game too easy or insanely hard, depending on the level of difficulty you play. Huge arsenal, numerous ways to pass a mission, great gameplay in all.

Assassin’s Creed III

Remember the emlematic Ezio? Forget all about him. The new hero is an Indian named Ratonhnhaké:ton. We'll call him Connor though. The story takes place in the middle of the American War and we'll meet personalities like Samuel Adams (the guy on the famous Boston Lager!) and G.W. This chapter is more about revenge while the previous ones were about nobler causes. This is what makes AC3 a bad game I think. Αnd the naval warfare. It's possible to not do them but why are there in the first place? Anyway.

The game focuses on being a native killer trying to kill the guys who killed his village. The equipment is good and the mechanics medium to good to great. Something between these. The scenery is nothing but old as all the buildings have pointy roofs and are wooden so it has a fresh feeling. Boring are the travel times so Ubi added a system of fast travel to help players from falling asleep while travelling to the US border. Connor has a tomahawk to kill, a bow, hidden blades and can carry rifles. And he must hunt animals from time to time. And every 10 steps there is a cutscene what cannot be skipped.

Don't get me wrong, AC3 is a good game. But it's not Assassin's Creed. it's fun but something else.

007 Legends

Stay away from this thing.

Are you still with me? Ok. Double-o-seven is sad about this game. The story follows the steps of the mythic agent through the most important scenes of some of his movies. Nothing more to say i'm afraid.

The bad things start when the game starts though. The graphics are bad, too bad. Feels like Goldeneye (N64) is better in some ways. Then there is the gameplay. It's bad in every possible way. The enemies need 2-3 headshots to die, they respawn until you pass the "key point of no more respawn" and can kill you through walls. If you manage to overcome all these, 007 has some nice gadgets. He even sneaks, badly, but he does. Sound is nothing important. If you are not a die-hard fan don't bother.

Dishonored

Game of the year!

Bethesda delivers a great game that takes the gerne and puts it three level higher. The story happens in Dunwall, a steampunk semi-post apocalyptic city where the Empress is assassined and her daughter kidnaped. The player takes the role of Corvo, the personal bodyguard of the late empress who is charged with the murder. You will begin a journey to clean your reputation, save the little princess and put order back to the full of rats city. You see, there is a disease there... Anyway.

Gameplay is what makes Dishonored the top game ever. When you face a challenge, even a minor one, there are at least 2 different ways to complete it. Per se, if there is a door you can lockpick it, make someone open it, go in through a window and unlock it, transform to a rat and get in through the ventilation system, possess the body of a guard who has the keys or help someone in need and he will get you through.

Corvo has powers that make the game even better, a gift from The Outsider. Also, everything you do has a consequence. Kill many people and the city will be full of rats (result of the disease), kill a few and they will kill more civilians. Help someone and become another one's enemy. But the best thing is that you can totally finish the game without killing a single person or being seen by another person. It's awesome!
